Have you ever had something that just wouldn't stop eating at you? I have recently and it's not a good feeling. I was consumed by what someone "wasn't" doing more than focusing in on the reasons I was doing what I was doing. I was letting someone harden my heart and make me bitter. I finally had to let it go and give it to hands that were stronger and more capable than mine. There are a lot of things in life I guess we just aren't supposed to understand; that's when we need to really let go and let God!

On a chilly spring morning Peachtree folks gathered for worship at the church. Sanctuary flowers were given by Brent Griffin in memory of SSG Eric Vick. The children's sermon by Beverly Wilson was about the different things that people use to find their way, when they travel. Large paper maps were once used exclusively, but now people rely on a GPS system. But sometimes the GPS will direct you to go the wrong way. But for directions in our lives, we can always trust in the Bible, God's word for us.

Have you ever seen something spectacular? It took your breath away, and since that day or that moment, you just cannot get the memory out of your head.I have some of those moments etched in my mind and upon my heart. So, I vividly recall the birth of our son, Benjamin. I was stopped by a deputy sheriff on our way to the hospital that night (yes, I was in a hurry) and I was amazed about all that was taking place in the hospital room but the most amazing thing for me was when the doctor asked if I would cut the umbilical cord. I will never forget that moment.

2792.Nearly a quarter century of marriage propels time
For a memory that seems so vivid, it amazes me how much I can't recall. In less than a week, I will celebrate my 24th wedding anniversary with my wife, Kristi. There are moments when it seems we had that day last week, while at other times, it seems a lifetime ago. What I do remember: a beautiful, perfect, sunny, cool, autumn day. A full church in Momeyer. A dog wandering in and making himself comfortable just inside the door. Nephews and nieces and brothers and sisters and parents all dressed up, all covered in smiles. My bride's smile when she made it down the aisle.

We want to thank each of you who attended our monthly fish fry on Friday night. Even though we had a storm with some rain (which we needed) during the supper, we still had a great turnout! We really enjoyed the fellowship and the continued support. Without you it would not be successful. I pray everyone has stayed safe during the severe heat we are having. Please use caution and great sensible decisions when going outside.
