Oscar Powell Atkinson, 72, of Middlesex passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex. The Rev. Ricky Anderson officiated.
Oscar is survived by his brother, Jimmie "Jim" R. Atkinson of Wilson; his sister, Jean Strickland of Wendell; step-son, Robert Wayne Davis of Atlantic Beach; step-daughter, Dawn Davis Flora of the home; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Atkinson; his son, Oscar P. Atkinson, Jr.; his parents, William Oscar Atkinson and Nancy Narron Atkinson; his brother, Charles W. Atkinson; and his sisters, Edna Hopkins Phillips and Myrtle Deans.
