ROCKY MOUNT - Paul John Legaj, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Born in Wayne County, MI on March 3, 1946, he was the son of the late John J. Legaj and Irene Ostraska Legaj. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael J. Legaj and by his stepmother, Emily Legaj.

Paul is survived by his wife of 57 ½ years, Susan Manley Legaj; his sons, Paul M. Legaj and wife, Melba, of Rocky Mount and John F. Legaj and wife, Molly, of Port Washington, WI; his daughter, Andrea Legaj-Milks of Elm City; four grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rocky Mount with Father Tim Meares celebrating with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:15 a.m. prior to the service. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 3-5 p.m. at the family home and on Monday, September 19, 2022, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Paul's memory to either the NCC Foundation - Paul J. Legaj Memorial Scholarship Fund, 522 N. Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, or to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School, 331 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, or to the Knights of Columbus Council 4600, 331 Hammond St., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
