Compromise in the Church: A Double-Edged SwordCompromise is a complex issue in the church. It can be both a strength and a weakness, depending on how and where it is applied. The Bible calls for unity, peace, and love among believers, but it also commands faithfulness to God's truth. The challenge is distinguishing between healthy compromise that fosters unity and dangerous compromise that weakens the church's foundation.

"The Lord redeems the soul of his servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned." (Psalm 34:22)On January 29, 2025, a Bombardier CRJ700 Airliner and a Black Hawk Helicopter collided over the Potomac River in Washington, DC. A total of 67 souls were killed in the crash. It was such a horrible accident and seemed so preventable. Even with the recovery of the black boxes, they may never fully determine what actually happened that caused the helicopter to crash into the plane.

MOMEYER - The Momeyer Town Council has voted to begin airing videos of town council and planning board meetings on You Tube beginning in March despite objections by planning board members, including a threat to quit by one alternate planning board member if meetings are videorecorded. While the decision to videotape Momeyer meetings was originally approved in August of 2024, it was not enacted in order to involve town planners time for making input into videotaping protocols.

If ever there was an oxymoron in the making, it has to be the Department of Government Efficiency.DOGE, led by billionaire Elon Musk, is tasked with finding waste in the Federal government. That seems like the equivalent of forming a committee to see if Little Debbie Zebra Rolls taste good.
The national media has been steadily reporting the waste exposed by DOGE:

This weekend, while attempting to play catchup, I decided to listen to the recent Downtown Strong meeting where advisory board members shared their disappointment regarding the town council. Coverage of this meeting was in the January 30th edition of The Graphic. As always, Nancy West-Brake did an incredible job of covering the meeting. Since downtown has always had a huge spot in my heart for most of my life, I also wanted to watch the meeting. It was evident the advisory board was indeed frustrated with the town council overriding their recommendations.
