My mother died when I was the tender age of seven. It was a very traumatic time for me. However, God had already made sure that someone would be around to step in and give me the mother's love that I so desperately needed.
I remember the day my mother died like it was yesterday.

Galatians 2:20 is the best-known and most-quoted verse in Galatians. It is one of the great statements of the apostle Paul recorded in the New Testament. This mystical statement is a clear explanation of what it means to be a Christian.
To be a Christian is to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Christianity is faith in Christ, love for Christ, and obedience to Christ.

Coopers Elementary School Principal Allison Williams received a t-shirt from Coopers Fire Department last week as a gift. Southern Nash Middle School Principal Mrs. Jones was recognized last week on National Principal's Day. Mrs. Colston, Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Marshburn and Mrs. Whitley were recognized at Southern Nash High School for Administrative Professional Day. This week has been Teacher Appreciation Week. Make sure to thank your child's teacher for all they do.

We're going to continue our theme of spiritual warfare the next few weeks and today I want to ask a similar question to last week: "What has Jesus come to do?"
When we look at Mark's gospel, which was the first one written, and certainly the most "to the point" gospel account, we learn that the one who will come after John will baptize with the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:8). Let's pause for a moment on that one.

Congratulations to Corbin and Nicole Longmire Griffin who were united in marriage on Saturday, May 1, 2021! The happy occasion took place at Red Oak Baptist Church. Corbin's great-grandparents, William Archibald " Arch" and Mary Capps Griffin, were the first couple to be married at Red Oak Baptist Church on April 26, 1919. Corbin is the son of Pat and Melinda Griffin.

We at Peachtree Baptist Church welcomed more new visitors Sunday. The faithful are starting to come back to church now that Covid-19 is not as active. It is so good to see them. Praise the Lord.
The sanctuary flower arrangement Sunday was loving presented to glorify God by Beverly Wilson in loving honor of her mother Mrs. Barbara Privette's 90th birthday.

Keren Harper, a senior at Bob Jones University pursuing a Bachelors of Communication Disorders, was accepted into the masters degree program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Harper is a resident of Nashville.

And when Wilson Fike star Jake Herring graduated early and joined the program at North Carolina State University, the top spot individually was suddenly up for grabs.

RED OAK -- Anticipation is one of the greatest intangibles surrounding the Northern Nash Lady Knights during the 2021 spring tennis season.
Northern, under the direction of coach Elaina Ingram, is loaded with strong returning talent from a club that went 10-4 during the Fall 2019 campaign -- a mark that was good enough for third place overall in the always-strong Big East Conference.

Paige Ward is currently at No. 3 Singles for the Northern Nash girls tennis squad.

ZEBULON -- The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the initial roster for the Carolina Mudcats in advance of the 2021 season opener.
The new roster features several of Milwaukee's top-rated prospects and native North Carolinians, including Raleigh's Noah Campbell, Creedmoor's Justin Bullock and Goldsboro's Ashton McGee.

FRANKLINTON -- Before the campaign started, Southern Nash softball coach Scott Collie figured his club's path to another Big East Conference championship was pretty clear-cut.

Wesleyan jumped out to a quick 8-0 led after the first inning thanks to 3 run-scoring hits and 6 errors/passed balls from MBU.
