Olivia Stone, of Nashville, checks out her Easter eggs after a hunt at Red Oak's Ennis Park. New Life Church hosted an Egg Drop this past Saturday at the park, dropping around 20,000 eggs from a helicopter. The event brought a huge crowd of excited children to participate in the egg hunt as well as other games and activities.

The Nash County Health Department is now offering COVID-19 vaccinations to anyone 18 years old or older.
Nash County Health Director Bill Hill said the county is moving forward with offering vaccines to those in Group 5. Those in Group 5 became eligible for vaccines on Wednesday, April 7.
"We're getting people vaccinated more quickly than we predicted," Hill said. "We want to get those shots in arms."

It's been a crazy year, so we definitely need to celebrate. I really thought I'd be getting my driver's license this week, but COVID has ruined that.

We are now just over one year into the coronavirus pandemic and thanks to the diligent work of our public health experts, frontline and essential workers, state leadership, and countless others, the hope of moving to a new "normal" feels more realistic than ever.

Vaughan's Chapel Church opened Easter morning service with offering and prayer. There were four song specials followed by the morning message given by Pastor Rev. Reuben Batchelor. A new Bible study will begin Sunday night April 11 at 6 pm led by Gene Holland. The topic will be the Book of Revelation.
Kingdom International Church held sunrise service followed by breakfast on Easter morning.

Easter Sunday should be a guarantee that the preacher is going to preach - the crucified one is the risen one. It's obvious. But just because something is obvious doesn't mean we stop proclaiming it.
I heard someone quip one time, "We must continue to preach the obvious or else it will not be obvious any longer.

A man under conviction showed up late to a gospel crusade. He sought out the evangelist and desperately asked, "What must I do to be saved?" The evangelist replied, "It's too late! You cannot do anything! The alarmed man asked again, "What must I do to be saved?" The evangelist repeated, "It's too late. You cannot do anything. It is already done."

Resurrection Sunday was a beautiful day. The Peachtree Baptist Church Congregation, family and friends met to worship our RISEN LORD on Easter Sunday. The Church was full of the faithful knowing what a special day it was for our Christian Faith.

The Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will present its 41st Jabberwock Scholarship Program on April 11, 2021 at 4 p.m. virtually featuring the theme "Pearls on the Rise...Destined to be Great!"
The Jabberwock originated in 1925 as a fundraiser to underwrite scholarships and to encourage participants to develop amateur talents.

Isabella Nicole Daza, daughter of Hernan Daza and Tanya Perez-Daza, has been awarded this year's Ann MacPherson Weaver Memorial Scholarship at Rocky Mount Academy. Currently an 8th grader at Red Oak Middle School, Daza will attend RMA in the fall on a full-tuition scholarship, valued at approximately $48,000 over four years.
The Weaver Scholarship was established at Rocky Mount Academy in 1986 in memory of a 1984 RMA graduate who had lost her life to cancer earlier that year.
