Aletha M. Hedgepeth, 100, passed away on July 19, 2021. She was born March 21, 1921 in Nash County to the late Sele E. Mitchell and Geneva Clay Mitchell. Aletha was preceded in death by her husband Raeford H. Hedgepeth; son Douglas R. Hedgepeth; great-grandson Brandon and six siblings.

She is survived by her son Larry and wife Gail Hedgepeth of Mooresville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister Lynn Leonard of Grifton/Mooresville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Hedgepeth's memory to the Red Oak Methodist Church at 8285 Red Oak Blvd., Red Oak, NC 27868.
