Hezekiah is affirmed in Scripture as doing "what was right in the Lord's sight" (2 Kings 18:3). The next verse details what Hezekiah did: "He removed the high places, shattered the sacred pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake that Moses made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it." (2 Kings 18:4).

When Jesus was alive he took the disciples to Jerusalem. Now that Jesus (so they thought) was dead the disciples are leaving Jerusalem.
This is the context of the infamous "Road to Emmaus" story. It's still the third day in this story. The men(disciples) have heard the story from the women(disciples) that Jesus' body wasn't there. The men, as men are prone to do, don't listen, as it still seems an idle tale to them.

This past Sunday was a beautiful day. The Peachtree Baptist Church Congregation, family and friends met to worship our Lord. The Church was full of the faithful. The sanctuary flower arrangement Sunday was loving presented to glorify God by Melba Hobgood in honor of our Lord and Savior.

ROCKY MOUNT -- In a normal season, there would be few -- if any -- standings-related controversies in the competitive Big East Conference football scene.
But that wasn't the case this spring in the Big East as a late COVID-19 scare threw a wrench into the league's championship-related possibilities.
That's because Northern Nash, due to an earlier cancelled game with Wilson Fike, had no chance of winning the Big East crown heading into last Friday's regular season finale on the road against ultimate rival Southern Nash.

NASH COUNTY -- With the exception of Class 3-A Big East Conference Champion Rocky Mount Gryphons, each of the remaining three Nash County high school football programs wrapped up their 2021 spring campaigns last week.
In a year truly unlike any other ever seen in the high school sports landscape, Nash Central, Northern Nash and Southern Nash each finished off their respective seasons as the schools capped off the annual Spring Break week.

STANHOPE -- Two years later, not much has changed within the burgeoning Southern Nash-Franklinton softball rivalry.
Back in 2018, the clubs tangled in a pair of fierce, high-level matchups as Franklinton was working its way up toward the top of the Big East Conference standings -- a spot usually reserved for Southern Nash.

NASH COUNTY -- It was a guard-heavy boys basketball season in Nash County in 2021, as all of the county's squads were blessed with quality backcourt performers.
That theory was strengthened when the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association recently released its All-District 3 Team.

MISENHEIMER -- The #9 North Carolina Wesleyan College baseball team rolled to another conference sweep by edging Pfeiffer University 14-12 in Game One and 5-3 in Game Two on the road on Sunday.
With their 6th straight win, the Bishops improved to 23-3 on the season and 11-1 in the East Division as they now lead second-place Peace by 3.5 games.

WARREN COUNTY -- Christian Buffaloe, an Assistant Instructor (Senpai) of area Kyokushin Karate Classes was recently promoted to Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) by the International Kyokushin Karate Organization in Tokyo, Japan.
Christian Buffaloe started his Kyokushin Karate training under his father, Sensei Kenny Buffaloe, at the age of 2 1/2 years old.
