Time flies when your children are growing up
Regular readers know that the “Birthday Run” – that time from early April to early May– has now officially ended since the fourth birthday of our youngest child, Lowell, has come and gone.
Kids under five change so rapidly, I had to go back and look at what I wrote about the little guy last year. I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that so many things happened; after all, he added 25 percent to his age in just 12 months. I could fill this space by just completing all the things that were started last year. More ...

Ellmers’ numbers don’t add up
Attendant to Renee Ellmers speaking tour as far as content accuracy was quite enlightening. Spring Hope got a dose of funny numbers from someone who was financially scalding us (7-9% rising hospital / health expenses) during her nursing career. She tried playing poker with some financial cards -and kept others hidden. She ignored facts while  playing with 2 decks. Two Republican presidents failed to get health care reform in previous efforts that she left unmentioned. Now we have it. Jealousy is rampant even as 54% of Americans want it. They see it can be implemented with mild and slight alterations. More ...

WHY?  Why are there so few pictures of pets available for adoption?  Well, first of all, let me assure you there are more than pictured!  These are the ones left after Friday’s adoptions and killing.  Yes, killing.  In fact, on May 6, they planned to kill any dog left in the Shelter unless they were in the legally required 72 hr stray hold.  In fact, they did kill some dogs that could have been easily adopted had only they had better adoption hours.
