Genuine faith requires Christians put their talents to work (relevance: 100%, date: Oct 22, 2025)
I read the above verse the other day and thought about a Kellogg's Corn Flakes commercial I remembered seeing on television several years ago.
Three men are seated in a waiting room - each with a bushel basket - flooded with ears of corn. They were waiting to see the cornflake inspector. All were very proud of their harvest, at least until the first man went in to see the inspector.
Within seconds, the first man comes flying through the door with his bushel basket emptying itself as he slides across the waiting room floor.

Federal shutdown impacts county DSS, senior services (relevance: 30.3%, date: Oct 22, 2025)
NASHVILLE - The federal budget impasse, currently the third longest funding lapse in modern history, hit day 20 on Monday, Oct. 20, with its effects already banging at the door to several Nash County Departments.
Food stamp "SNAP" benefits under the county Department of Social Services (DSS), currently received by 16,765 Nash residents, are covered through October 2025 but after that, state and federal funding is uncertain.

Is God Dead? - Failure to swoon (relevance: 26%, date: Oct 22, 2025)
David Mirsch's hypothesis of a clandestine use of drugs to render Jesus comatose on the cross is an ad hoc claim. He offers no supporting data, and the assertion cannot be proven. Beyond that, all swoon theories should address the most critical question: Could He have survived? The evidence seems clear; there is no amount of liniment or spice or, as Brandht suggests, "nutriment from the tomb," that could heal his contusions, mainly the ankle bones of Jesus, in such a timeframe (if ever) to allow him to be seen upright and walking a mere few days after the crucifixion.

Nationally known author to visit Nashville (relevance: 19.8%, date: Oct 22, 2025)
Imagine former President Jimmy Carter teaching your Sunday School lesson each week in a small community church in Plains, Georgia. That's exactly what former President Carter did for nearly 40 years after returning home form the White House.
Andrew Greer, nationally known author, recording artist and documentary filmmaker, was led to Plains, GA, the well-known hometown of former Carter. Andrew literally became a part of the community as he directed a PBS documentary, "Plainspoken," a film spotlighting Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter's work to bridge racial divisions in their hometown of Plains, Georgia.

NASHVILLE - Nashville's newest "watering hole" is tucked inside the Nashville Junction, where a long drink bar awaits with a variety of healthy juice and shake options. 'Nashville Nutrition' was the third business to open its doors inside the historic structure, but its owner-operator is looking to build more than a customer base; Brittney Price, owner, with employee Sarah Champion, both young moms, are looking to build a community.
The grand opening was held June 14th, with a formal ribbon-cutting with the Nashville Chamber held Oct.17.

Shop early, shop local - and join us for season fun! (relevance: 12.1%, date: Oct 22, 2025)
October rolled in quickly and is about to roll out even faster!
I was looking over the calendar attempting to prioritize all that has to be done between now and Thanksgiving and quite frankly almost experienced a panic attack when realizing just how fast the last couple of months have raced by - which means the next two months will be just as fast.
Since we seem to be in fast-forward motion, now is a good to time to start making your Christmas shopping list.
