Peachtree Baptist Church members came out for service this past Sunday to the beautiful sunshine. They prayed that the Covid-19 vaccinations continue and the numbers of infections continue to drop. They prayed for all those effected by the extreme weather.
The sanctuary flower arrangement Sunday was loving presented to glorify God by Susan and Lawrence Edwards in loving memory of Karen Edwards and Tom Moorefield.

Nash Central High School's Lance Norris, only a junior, picked up another state crown as he took first place in the Boys 200 Freestyle at the annual meet at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary.

FRANKLINTON -- Southern Nash enjoyed a renaissance girls basketball season in 2019-20 as the Ladybirds' long rebuilding process resulted in a trip to the Class 3-A State Playoffs -- and an upset victory in the opening round.
SN veteran head coach Jordan Bass hoped to use that excellence as a springboard into the ensuing campaign, but COVID-19 concerns had other ideas.

OAK ISLAND -- On Valantine's Day Weekend, several local runners showed their love for running.
During that weekend, a group of distance stars from Red Oak headed to Oak Island for the annual Half Marathon on February 13, starting at 7:15 a.m.
Race-day morning arrived with a temperature of 38 degrees, light rain and a head wind.

ZEBULON -- The Carolina Mudcats haveannounced the club's 2021 Low-A East regular season schedule, which will begin on May 4 versus the Fayetteville Woodpeckers at Five County Stadium in Zebulon and conclude on September 19 versus the Woodpeckers in Fayetteville.
The inaugural Low-A East schedule calls for 120 games, evenly split with 60 home and 60 away games, for each member team.

The Nash County Sheriff's Office is currently looking for Brittney Lynn Dudley, a 21- year old female missing from 7907 Buck Deans Road, Middlesex.
Brittney Lynn Dudley was last seen on February 13, 2021, at 5:40 a.m. She was seen wearing a red hoodie and red plaid pants. Brittney Lynn Dudley is believed to be traveling in a navy-blue Chevy Trailblazer (unknown year or registration plate number) possibly with a friend, Shanicia Gardner, from the Bertie County area.
