Is God Dead? - Hallucinations 101 - Peter (relevance: 28.6%, date: Nov 5, 2025)
Last week, we looked in detail at the scientific implausibility of group hallucinations. That is, since hallucinations are personal mental events, groups of people can't hallucinate the same thing in the same place at the same time. The significance of this is that half of the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus are to groups of people (cf 1 Cor 15:5-8). But what about the appearances of the risen Jesus to individuals? After all, individuals certainly could have hallucinated Jesus, right? In fact, in Paul's list (1 Cor 15:5-8), Jesus first appears to the individual Cephas, or Peter. Now, regarding Peter, on the surface, we do have some reason to believe that he may have suffered a hallucination.

Members of the Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated brought canned goods and perishable items to its first regular monthly meeting for the 2025-2026 sorority year. These products were donated to the United Community Ministries to assist in restocking the food pantry. Delta Dears, the title affectionately bestowed upon sorority members aged 62 and above, spearheaded the community service project. A public service sorority established in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta's mission since inception has been to serve the community through its Five Point Programmatic Thrust of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
