1415.It’s time our legislators attend to the needs of the people, not their wants
Dear Editor: The Annexation debate started and continues because of the “needs” of the people versus the “wants” of manmade entities. It is time that we ask our legislative representative to give priority consideration to the “needs” of the people’s freedoms and rights over the wants of manmade entities such as municipalities, organizations, lobbying organizations, and corporations. Some the peoples freedoms and rights are the freedom to choose with whom we associate, the right to own property without infringement on those rights, and the right to the pursuit of happiness.

1432.Sharp Shooters
BUNN -- Precipitation is always in the forecast when the Bunn Wildcats are on a red-hot streak from the field. That’s because the Wildcats have a tendency to rain 3-pointers on defenses that aren’t as disciplined as they need to be. If an opponent chooses to play zone against the Wildcats, that’s almost a sure-fire bad strategy. But Bunn has also learned how to break down man-to-man defenses -- usually off penetration -- before dishing the ball out to an open shooter, whose defender has sagged into the lane.

Dear Editor, Forceful annexation is not “The American Way.” It is just Wrong with a capital “W”. It is stealing from the people, taking something that is not yours. Keeping us at the mercy of your hands, which are forcefully pushing us to the bottom. We chose not to live with-in the city limits although, we do support the city. We shop in Rocky Mount which helps the city strive and grow. There is no need for what they are doing to us.
