Intersections: God and Life

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Baptism and the Lord's Supper are symbols of salvation. But they are not mere symbols. They are living illustrations that teach us what it means to be in Christ. STANHOPE -- Looks can be deceiving when judging a Southern Nash football scrimmage only by results.
Such was the case last Friday as the Firebirds hosted a solid Wilson Hunt club for a session at historic Firebird Stadium on the SNHS campus.
Hunt, coached by former Nash Central assistant Juan Jackson, seemed to get the better of the play, but that wasn't much of a concern for first-year SNHS skipper Brian Batchelor.

Nash Central's summer participation wasn't as high as Lee hoped for, and he lost a few of his top players to transfers in the off-season.

RED OAK -- One of the most exciting games from Northern Nash's 2021 spring football campaign was its season-opening 7-0 victory against SouthWest Edgecombe.
While the game, which took place on a chilly February evening in Pinetops, was deemed "ugly" by most of the socially-distant crowd, it was an exciting one where the Knights emerged victorious, setting the tone for their 4-2 record last season.

BETHEL -- Nash Central was able to deliver a trio of goals, but it would not be enough for the Bulldogs to earn a victory during Monday's road boys soccer contest against North Pitt.
In a duel between former Eastern Plains Conference rivals, the Bulldogs were tied with North Pitt at intermission, but the hosts rolled down the stretch en route to registering a 5-3 decision.
