"Mamma Mia!" opens April 3rd
Rocky Mount High School's Gryphon Theatrical students perform "Mamma Mia!," a Greek Island comedy that features the 1970s music of ABBA. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. This sets the scene for a hilarious series of assumptions and miscommunication until the identity of the true father is revealed. This musical blockbuster fills the theater with joyful music and dancing that celebrate life, love and family.
The theater arts department at Rocky Mount High School gives opportunities to high school and middle school students who have a passion to perform on-stage and work behind the scenes. This program provides students with skills which will help them in their future careers, as well as building self-confidence, leadership, accountability, and dedication to community. We work together as a school, building a program as a family along with our community partners. This production is directed by NYC actress and ECU Alum, Kristin Lundberg, who is a native of Rocky Mount. Performances will be held in the Black Box Theater at Rocky Mount High School, 1400 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803 at 7pm on Wednesday, April 3 through Saturday, April 6. Tickets are $8 for the general public and $5 for all students. For questions or more information, email Kristin Lundberg at email@example.com or visit our website at www.gryphontheatricals.weebly.com.
