LUTHER "PETE" HARPER, JR.

CASTALIA -- Luther "Pete" Harper, Jr., age 65, passed away Monday night, September 23, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Myrtle Harper.

He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Thorpe of Rocky Mount and Brooke Huntington (Richard) of Wendell; grandchildren, Justin Wiggins, Jayden Thorpe, Gwynevere and Jameson Huntington; siblings, Linda Taylor (David) of Nashville, Bettie Chapman of Bailey, Nancie Griffin of Swansboro, Frances Collins (Joe) of Castalia, Martha Beichner of Bailey, Johnny Harper (Adela) of Castalia, Marie Rice (Ricky) of Spring Hope, and Sue Ellen Harper Bissette (Mickey) of Bailey; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and family friends.

Family and friends joined to celebrate and remember Pete's life at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Castalia Baptist Church, 9563 Main St., Castalia. The service was officiated by Carlyle Hall and Ricky Forkum. The family greeted friends immediately following the service. (paid obituary)
