CASTALIA — In a stolen car, Patrick Lynch didn't get far on $2 worth of gas. It did, however, get him far enough to stretch a two-county-wide chase with three Nash County deputies from the L&L store in Castalia to the Gardner Road bridge late Wednesday morning — kicking off an area manhunt that brought more than 10 law agencies and 100 officers to Cedar Rock Baptist Church, where command dispatch launched a late-evening and early-morning, door-to-door, barn-to-barn search.

STRATEGY. After searching for a potential murder suspect in a Georgia case, following a car chase that started in Nash County Wednesday morning and ended in Franklin County, law enforcement regrouped and planned strategy that would take them through the evening. Deputies and other law officers restarted a door-to-door search and notification of residents in the Gardner Road area, handing out flyers with suspect Patrick Lynch's photo. Lynch, who has a crime history of violence, is considered dangerous by authorities. He is well-known to local officers and has family in the Castalia and Gardner Road area. Above are, from left: Lt.
