Citizens stood solemnly on the hushed streets of Middlesex as dozens of law enforcement vehicles, with flashing lights and silent sirens, escorted the body from Southern Nash High School, where over 2500 people attended funeral services, to the small Hollywood Cemetery on the outskirts of town.

Dear Editor:When I look at the innocence of my beautiful grandbaby as well as all children, it warms my heart. The other day we were at the park and he saw another two year old with her grandma. He went over to her with a lovely smile and said, " I want to blow bubbles to her." He blew through his wand and the most beautiful, iridescent bubbles floated and lingered. She was fascinated and he was flirting at age 2.

5824.Why enforce traffic laws?
In an earlier column I wrote about the parking times downtown and that the police department was increasing enforcement on parking violations. I want to give you an update. The Town Council recently amended the Town’s parking ordinance to eliminate the 15 minute and one hour parking spaces. All the time limited parking spaces downtown are now two hour parking and handicapped parking. Please take note of this when you park downtown. This does not apply to the public parking lots however; we do enforce handicapped parking in those lots. The police department is continuing our enforcement efforts in the time limited areas and in handicapped parking throughout the town.
