Sorority kicks off year with donations for shelter
Sorority kicks off year with donations for shelter

Members of the Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated brought canned goods and perishable items to its first regular monthly meeting for the 2025-2026 sorority year. These products were donated to the United Community Ministries to assist in restocking the food pantry. Delta Dears, the title affectionately bestowed upon sorority members aged 62 and above, spearheaded the community service project.

A public service sorority established in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta's mission since inception has been to serve the community through its Five Point Programmatic Thrust of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. The local chapter, led by President June Kearney, has 169 members and was chartered in 1947. Pictured are: June Kearney, president; Lesterine D. Is God Dead? - Hallucinations 101 - Peter
