Red Oak Baptist Church will have a Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 21 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am for those who need a little extra help with back-to-school supplies. At least 100 backpacks with school supplies will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. This drive through event will take place in the front church parking lot at 5515 Red Oak Rd.

The Peachtree Baptist Church Members and Pastor Gene discussed the Covid-19-DV and prayed for those that are sick with it. We praised God for all the loving blessings He has given us and asked that He watch over us during this time of the Delta Variants.
The sanctuary flower arrangement Sunday was loving presented to glorify God by Joan and Ray Eason in loving memory of her father, Raymond Rackley's, birthday.

Dunn Center hires new Art Curator

Greg Purcell has been selected as the new Art Curator for The Dunn Center at North Carolina Wesleyan College. Starting in August, he will be taking over the reins from Everett Adelman, current Wesleyan Art Professor, who will be retiring this summer. Adelman has filled this role since the opening of The Dunn Center in 1996.

North Carolina's egg prices were lower on medium, steady on the balance when compared to last week. Supplies of extra large and medium were light, while large were fairly light to meet a moderate demand. The North Carolina weighted average price quoted Thursday, August 05, for small lot sales of delivered, cartoned, grade "A" eggs was 126.50 for Extra Large, 120.62 for Large, 89.61 for Medium, and 82.00 for Small eggs.

The Golden Demons secured 153.5 total points to edge the 149 registered by the Southern Nash High School Firebirds.
