North Carolina Wesleyan College's e-sports club, The Bishop Gaming Association (BGA), recently developed a partnership with WHIG-TV to provide training opportunities for students. Sorority creates awareness to break the silence of domestic abuse

Nationally and locally, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is working to address relationship violence and break the culture of silence surrounding domestic violence.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta (RMAC) made several presentations to help inform, educate, and create more public awareness of this issue. Using this theme: "Love Should Not Hurt", the chapter featured a video narrated by Emily Lemus, Director of My Sister's House of North Carolina on its website: www.rmacdst.org.

North Carolina's egg prices were steady on small, higher on the balance when compared to last week. Supplies of extra large and medium were mostly moderate, while large were fairly light to meet a moderate demand. The North Carolina weighted average price quoted Thursday, November 18, for small lot sales of delivered, cartoned, grade "A" eggs was 145.36 for Extra Large, 144.10 for Large, 112.01 for Medium, and 75.00 for Small eggs.

Chuck Adcock, Master, Masonic Lodge #85, Nashville, along with Ann Bailey of Bailey's Jewelry, presented a check for over $4,000 to Kevin Otis, Administrator of the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford. This was the result of a raffle for a diamond necklace donated by Bailey's Jewelry. Raffle tickets were sold by members of the lodge. Bailey, 96 years young, started Bailey's Jewelry with her husband in 1948.

RED OAK -- Leading by seven points late in the first half, head coach Andrew Farriss and his Northern Nash Knights were feeling good during last Friday's home matchup with perennial powerhouse Scotland County in the third round of the Class 3-A State Football Playoffs at historic Death Valley on the NN campus.
While the NNHS offense had looked sloppy, the defense, which had been much undervalued throughout the course of the season, forced turnovers and limited Scotland's dynamic offensive unit.

NASH COUNTY -- Southern Nash dominated the Big East Conference boys soccer scene this fall, so it was no surprise when the Firebirds claimed two of the league's top-three season-long honors.
SN senior veteran Jared Gonzalez was tabbed as the Big East Offensive Player of the Year, while veteran Firebird skipper Carlos Barron was the automatic chose as the Conference Champion Coach of the Year.
