Shelter personnel have a hard job. It has been deemed one of the most stressful jobs. Maybe that is why they haven't replaced two officers that are extremely needed to patrol and handle calls. However, the pay and benefits are excellent, and it can be very rewarding. You must love and have a need to protect animals!
The shortage leaves only two officers and one Shelter person, who has been performing more of the duties of an officer.

Over the Christmas season, we frequently see angels depicted in church plays and in our decorations. When our grandchildren and nieces were looking at our Christmas decorations, they loved the angels and talked about them.
Listening to them talk about angels prompted a lot of questions about them. When did God create angels? What do angels do? How many angels are there? Do angels have bodies? What do angels look like? Do people become angels after death?

NCWC defeated at Southern Virginia

BUENA VISTA, VA. -- The North Carolina Wesleyan College men's basketball team dropped its second straight game in Virginia last Saturday, falling 77-67 at Southern Virginia University.
Wesleyan led a low-scoring first half 29-24 shooting 40 percent led by senior wing Damon McDowell's 13 first-half points and three 3-pointers while holding the Knights to just 33 percent shooting.

BUNN -- Bunn put together one of its finest all-around performances of the season Tuesday -- and that wasn't good news for upset-minded Southern Nash.
The Ladycats, needing a victory to stay tied for third place in the Big East in the loss column, pulled away with a strong second quarter and never looked back en route to defeating Southern Nash by a 61-41 margin in a league girls basketball matchup at the Bunn Dome.

WILSON -- After a two-year pandemic hiatus, one of the state's most prestigious prep girls soccer events will be returning in March.
That's when The Brittany Girls Soccer Showcase -- an annual spring tradition -- will be held at Gillette Park in Wilson.
Teams from across the state will convene for the showcase, which is scheduled for March 11-12.
