That's why Spivey, a recently graduated senior, has accepted an academic scholarship offer to attend prestigious Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Spivey received offers from some smaller schools to join their respective hoops program, but the opportunity to attend Wake Forest -- and have 95 percent of it paid for -- was too good to pass up.

Word for the Week
Word for the Week

Individualism pervades Christianity. It has to do with how we commonly approach faith in God through Jesus Christ. Faith, we say, is personal not public. We therefore emphasize what we can do and what we must do as individuals. We emphasize personal commitment, personal devotions, and personal relationships with Christ. Christians getting their spiritual food via e-mail and web sites sitting by themselves with an iPad accentuates this individualism.
