Lou Adkins Walker, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. She was born on May 6, 1947 in Halifax County to the late Lewis Adkins and Catherine Boyd Adkins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Adkins Phillips.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Carlton Walker of Whitakers; step-daughters, Amanda W. Clark and her husband "J" of Red Oak and Barbie Barllett and her husband Roger of Evansville, IN; step-sons, Paul Walker and his wife DeeDee of Rocky Mount and Noah Walker of Red Oak; two sisters, Merle A. Taylor of Enfield and Gayle A. Garner and her husband Darryl of Red Oak; and three brothers, Franklin Adkins of Grifton, Marvin Adkins and his wife Betsy of Southport and Ronnie Adkins and his wife Vickie of Red Oak. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, June 19, 2015 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, with Rev. Billy Howell officiating.
