The perfect snow storm came on Saturday evening.  It was exciting to watch the flakes falling.  Everything became a winter wonderland.  But on Sunday morning the roads were clear and church services could be held as scheduled.  By noon most of it was gone.  That’s the way to have snow!

A special service was held at Peachtree on Sunday morning.  The sanctuary was adorned with poinsettias given in honor and memory of family and friends of Peachtree. The Chrismon tree had been decorated and was in place, as was the manger, in anticipation of the advent of the Christ Child.  It was the second Sunday of Advent and the service began with Bob Bunn lighting the Advent candle of PEACE.  The scripture for the day was Isaiah 40: 27-30.  The choir sang “They that Wait upon the Lord”, directed by Pastor Whitehouse.  A service of dedication of the Peachtree Memorial Carillon was led by Pastor Whitehouse.  The Carillon was given in memory of Karen Dollar Edwards, by her family and friends.  The congregation and the pastor read a litany of dedication.  The Carillon played two hymns-“To God Be the Glory” and “Blessed Assurance”.  Many of Karen and Lawrence’s family and friends were present for the occasion.

On Friday evening, the Peachtree Family had their Christmas dinner.  Everyone brought their favorite dish.  Old and young alike enjoyed the entertainment and fellowship.  One special attraction was having a picture made in a sleigh, in front of a snowy backdrop.  Christmas music was provided by Tamara and Mike Whitley, cousins of Jerry Hobgood.  Jerry also made his debut as a soloist, as he surprised his friends with his talent.  It was a fun evening!

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Caroline Hathaway.  She was involved in a fatal accident on Saturday.  She was a classmate of Taylor Gupton.

Destiny King rode with her Girl Scout troop on a float in the Middlesex Christmas parade on Sunday.

Last Sunday, Josh and Kristina Griffin brought Natalie Claire to church for her first visit.  This Sunday Aaron and Beth brought Elijah Aaron Edwards for his first visit to Peachtree.  We are as proud as their grandparents are!!

Faith Christian Ministry is continuing their $1.00 sale until Christmas.  All clothing items are $1.00, with the exception of suits and coats.

Prayer concerns are those who are sad, lonely and sick.  The known sick are as follows:

Ozelle Edwards: home from the hospital on Sunday.
Clint Gupton: at home, recovering from Surgery last Wednesday.
Vicky Valdunois: at Nash General, to have surgery this week.
Richard Blanchard: recovering well.
Jackie Macarthy: Arlyne Wood’s mom, at Autumn Care.
Raymond Coley: Barbara Blanchard’s dad at Britthaven in Wilson
Travis Griffin: still having therapy.
Allen Story:  critically ill; brother to Pastor David Story

Remember to visit the shut-ins.  Pray for the men and women serving in hostile places, during this Christmas season.

Happy birthday to Taylor Overton, Dec. 5; Jeannie Bennett and Jaden Reams, Dec 8; Kenneth Medlin, Dec 12; Thomas Griffin, Dec 15!!

Remember this: “HE is the reason for the season.”
