Ravin Carpenter passed away on June 7, 2026. Born on March 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Walter Gray Carpenter and Cleora Williams Carpenter.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Hansen (Kevin); four stepdaughters, Emily Ballard, Jessica Parshall, JoAnn Bloom, and Jennifer Bloom; one stepson, Steven Parshall; his brother, Truman Carpenter (Myrtle); his sister, Rochelle Whitehead; one grandchild; and one step-grandchild.

Along with his parents, Ravin was preceded in death by the mother of his daughter, Laura Carpenter; wife Carolyn Carpenter; three brothers, Smiley Carpenter, Redman Carpenter, and Alton Carpenter; and seven sisters, Ruth Bailey, Anna Whitman, Katie Lynch, Betty Johnson Earp, Mavis Webb, Roselle Tyson, and Eleanor Howell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Cornerstone Funeral Home, with Pastor Travis Crocker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
