Betty Leiontine "Teeny" Morgan Matthews Vaughn passed away April 28, 2026 at the age of 90 years old. She was born January 17, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Della Joyner Morgan.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gilford Matthews and Charles Vaughn "Pete", sisters Elma Leigh Sherrod, Adgerneen Matthews, brother Randolph Morgan Jr. "Pete" and son Randy Matthews, grandson Barry Moss.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca M. Tisdale, Steve Matthews, Karen Matthews, Lori Stephens, Denise Hall (Roy); 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her sister Hilda Edwards of Swansboro.

Visitation was held at Cornerstone Funeral Home on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
