ROCKY MOUNT - Mary Doris Rackley, age 91, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. Born in Johnston County on December 26, 1933, she was the daughter of the late James Ollie Renfrow and Sudie Davis Renfrow. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Marvin Rackley; and her second husband, Charles D. Mercer.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Gale Boykin, and husband Monte, of Bailey, and Marie West, and husband Charles, of Clayton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Ann Rowsey, and husband, Ted, of Disputanta, VA, Brother, Kenneth Renfrow, and wife Faye, of Rocky Mount; and her nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount with Minister Monte Boykin officiating.
