Robert Walter Ricks

ROCKY MOUNT - Robert Walter Ricks, age 78, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Nash County, NC on June 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Arthur H. Ricks and Janie Blackwell Ricks. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Ricks.

Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a devoted Husband, Daddy and Grandpa. Robert was a devout Christian that loved his family, fishing and Nascar. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. God gained an angel, and we lost a Husband, Daddy and Grandpa.

Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose Ricks; children, Tammy Pridgen (Dale), Timmie Gardner (Gail), Pete Ricks (Angel), Steve Ricks (Wendy); grandchildren, Christopher Conner (Angela), Michael King (Casey), Matthew King (Melissa), Cheyenne King, Hunter Gardner, Cody Ricks, Summer Ricks, Jessica Ricks, Justin Ricks; and great-grandchildren, Ada Ricks, Kennedy Ricks, Emma Conner, Trent Conner, Jayden King, Bailey King, Madelyn King, Fisher King, Harbor King, Eleanor Harris and Genevieve Harris.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor Ricky Sorie officiating. Burial will follow the service at Red Oak Cemetery. A visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
