William Monroe Lindsey, Sr., 86, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025. He was born November 24, 1938 in Wilson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ernest Lindsey and Appie Brooks Lindsey; first love, Beulah Mae Lindsey, whom he shared 57 years of marriage and his second love, Julia Farmer Lindsey, nine years of marriage; two brothers, Aster "Blossom" Lindsey and Rudolph Lindsey.

He is survived by his four children, Susie Coggins (Don), Bill Lindsey (Lisa), Aubrey Farmer (Kathy) and Mike Farmer (Cathy); sister, Alberta Cobb; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren; his bonus children, by his second marriage, Bonnie Farmer Winstead (Todd), Tracy Farmer Shearin (Keith) and their children; many cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 1 -2 p.m, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Barnes Hill Church with a memorial service to be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Langley, Rev. Dick Singleton and Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. A second memorial service will be held at a later date in Sylva.
