ELEANOR C. HOWELL

Eleanor C. Howell,78, passed away on May 5, 2025. Born in Nash County, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Walter Gray Carpenter and Cleora William Carpenter.

She is survived by her children: sons David Howell (Shannon McFerren), Billy Howell (Brenda), Scott Howell (Suzie), and Mike Howell; daughters Rebecca Deans (William Mozingo) and Darlene Howell Smith; nieces and nephews, cousins; two brothers Ravin Carpenter (Carolyn) and Truman Carpenter (Myrtle), and her sister Rochelle Whitehead; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband William Howell Sr., her six sistersRuth Bailey, Anna Whitman, Katie Lynch, Betty Earp, Mavis Webb, and Roselle Tyson, and three brothers Walter, Redmon, and Alton Carpenter.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at White Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Hal Jones officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
