LOIS CONNOR JONES VARNELL

ROCKY MOUNT - Lois Connor Jones Varnell, known to friends and family as "Bunny", age 83, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Born in Nash County on December 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Jones and Lois Connor Jones. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Carson Varnell, Sr.; her granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Varnell; and her brothers, Connor Jones, C.D. Jones, and Tim Jones.

Bunny is survived by her son, Robert Carson Varnell, Jr. and wife, Teresa; her sister, Johnie Jones; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Taylor Jones and Ferne Dozier Jones; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.

A special gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 4-6 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Bunny's memory to First Baptist Church, 200 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to the Red Oak Area Preservation Historical Society, Treasurer, PO Box 61, Red Oak, NC 27868.
