NASHVILLE - Kenneth "Ken" Edward Waring, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Born in Quitman County, MS on September 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank Gibson Waring, Jr. and Edna Lee Stuart Waring. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank "Bub" Waring, III.
Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roberta "Bobbie" Bostrom Waring; his daughter, Melanie Waring of Nashville; his sons, Jason Waring, Sr. of Nashville and Patrick Duggan and wife, Lynda, of Nolensville, TN; nine grandchildren; his brother, Fred Waring and wife, Norma; his sisters, Margaret Holden and husband, John, and Lee "Bitsy" Marske; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate Ken's life will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, with Pastor Alice Johnson-Curl officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church.
