ORIS GRADY EVANS

Oris Grady Evans, son of the late Rev. Oris Evans and Lucy Harris Evans, was born June 16, 1935., in Halifax County. He passed away Monday, June 27, 2022.

He was proceeded in death by his son Grady Michael Evans and ten siblings, Clarence, Florence, Samuel Arvell, Roxie Adele, Charlie, Rudolph, Levonia, Pattie Hortense, Mannis (M.H.), William Clinton and Robert Lewis.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Christine of the home; his children, Randy (Velma) Evans of Nashville , Bryan Keith Evans of the home, Cynthia Evans, Iris Gail (Elliott) Evans and Karen (Wesley) Dale all of Hollister, Timothy (Angela) of Los Angeles, California; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Ethelene Silver of Castalia; two nephews who were raised as bothers Clay P. Evans and Marvin Bailey Evans; two sisters-in-laws, Dorothy Lee Silver and Betty Silver of Warrenton.

A funeral service was held Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Hollister at Mount Bethel Baptist Church. Burial followed at Pine Chapel Cemetery.
