BERNICE M. JOYNER

NEWPORT NEWS - Bernice M. Joyner, 79, formerly of Nashville, passed away January 5, 2022. She was born on November 17, 1942 in Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Outlaw; father, David Rogers; brother, David "Bug" Rogers Jr.; sister, Phyllis N. Rogers; and son, Bobby Whitaker.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Hubert Joyner; daughter, Kim Joyner; son, Hubert Ramon Joyner; one grandchild; sister, Claretta Battle; brothers, Cedric Outlaw (Shawanda), William "WJ" Rogers (Sallie), Andrew Woods, Joseph Outlaw Sr., and Derrick Outlaw; sister-in-law, Katie Parker; daughter-in-law, Doris Whitaker; a host of special cousins, sisters, nieces, nephews, and family friends.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Newport News, Virgina.
