MOMEYER - Douglas Dwight Wood, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021.He was born September 1, 1944, in Edgecombe County to the late Jimmie and Beadie Cooley Wood. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers JC, Tom, Willis, Zeb, David and Clint Wood; sister Janice Matthews.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jean Wood, of the home; daughters Vicky Winstead of Middlesex, Wendy Harris (Stan) of Nashville; granddaughters two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters Nellie Jones of Elm City, Shirley Bass of Spring Hope and Ann Edwards (Harold) of Nashville; brother Charlie Wood of Red Oak.

A visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 7pm in the chapel.
