ROCKY MOUNT - Lois Taylor Turner, age 83, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Born in Edgecombe County on December 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Taylor, Sr. and Dora Dew Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Freddie Nelson Turner, Sr.; her brother, George Washington Taylor, Jr.; and her sister, Betty Jean Lewis.

She is survived by her sons, Freddie Nelson Turner, Jr. (Ginger) of Rocky Mount and Randall Scott Turner of Clayton; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother, Marvin Ray Taylor of Rocky Mount; her sister-in-law, Betty Louis Taylor of Rocky Mount; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
