ROCKY MOUNT - Sonya Long Winstead, age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Born in Nash County she was the daughter of the late Jack Jefferson Long and Mary Ellen Nelms Long. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Dean Winstead, her brother, John Long; and her daughter-in-law, Kim Adams Winstead.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Winstead and wife, Debi, of Afton, VA, James Curtis Winstead of Rocky Mount, John Winstead and wife, Francine, of Greenville; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. |
