HILLIARDSTON - Janice Faye Matthews Thomas, age 83, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Born in Nash County on October 12, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Eugene H. Matthews and Lessie Rackley Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Howard Thomas.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Thomas and wife, Lori, of Rocky Mount, Kenneth Thomas and wife, Ellen, of Castalia, Tony Thomas and wife, Theresa of Red Oak, Gerald Thomas and wife, Tambre, of Rocky Mount; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Matthews (Susan); sister, Pat Matthews Badary.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Castalia Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Castalia Baptist Church.
