ROCKY MOUNT - Lenell Matthews Lucas Wilkins, age 78, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Born in Nash County on March 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Matthews and Anne Lee Wilkins of Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her son, Erzell Lucas.
Lenell is survived by her daughter, Teresa Lucas; sons, Johnnie Earl Lucas and Gerald Lucas; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Russell Matthews, her twin brother Percell Matthews, Bobby Matthews, Thomas "Kenny" Matthews, Freeman Matthews, and George Matthews; sisters, Peggy Matthews Boone, Colene Matthews Best, Blonzetta Matthews Wilder; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial gathering of fellowship with the family will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 beginning at 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rocky Mount. |
