Debu-Ettes raise funds for Nash County K-9

The Debu-Ette organization of Rocky Mount presents the Nash County Sheriff's Office with a check for $2,500 to buy GPS equipment for the K-9 Unit. Members raised money for the past year selling raffle tickets. As a tradition, seniors pick a different charity or cause each year they work for. This year members chose the K-9 unit after watching a presentation and learning about the work done by the K-9 dogs. The Debu-Ette organization renders community service as part of helping the youth become leaders in civic and social affairs. The organization currently has approximately 150 girls from the ninth through twelfth grade. Pictured, Meghan Summerlin presents the check to Major Eddie Moore of the Nash County Sheriff's Office. Other members pictured are Peyton Hutson, Sydney Winters and Chelsey Joyner. Standing in front is Deputy William Toney with K-9 "Chase." Graphic photo by Jo Anne Cooper
