SHIRLEY GRAY DUKE STATON

Shirley Gray Duke Staton, age 84, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Born in Nash County on January 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Viola Duke. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wiley Staton; brothers, WC Duke, Dewey Duke, Swindell Duke, Kenneth Duke; and sister, Virginia Moss.

She is survived by her sons, Eugene Staton and wife Lisa of Amarillo, TX and Dennis Staton and wife Sue of Spring Hope; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister, Frances Dunn of Nashville.

A service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park in the Chapel of memories mausoleum at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Kirkland and Chaplain Ricky Forkum officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family is requesting social distancing.
