ROCKY MOUNT - Frances Jackson Batts, age 85, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020. Born in Wilson County on June 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Ernie Jackson Sr. and Elsie Lee Hill Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Roosevelt Batts, Jr.; son, George Roosevelt Batts, III; and brother, Melvin E. Jackson, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Batts Lepley and husband, Chet, of Garner. She is also survived by her grandchildren; sister, Barbara Jackson Williamson of Wilson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum with Dr. Rob Westlund officiating.
