ROCKY MOUNT - Joyce Anne Gurganus Cone, age 71, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Born in Duplin County on December 12, 1947, she was the daughter of Doshia Ellen Tadlock Evans and the late Woody James Gurganus.

Along with her mother, Joyce is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wilbur Cone; daughters, Beth Candler and husband, Danny, Kimberly Hackney and husband, Chris, and Wendy Langley and husband, Rodney. She is also survived by; four grandchildren,; one great-grandson; brothers, James Gurganus and Larry Gurganus; sisters, Martha Davis and Deborah Radabaugh; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 - to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
