ROCKY MOUNT - George Marshall Joyner, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018. Born in Nash County on July 3, 1939, he was the son of the late George Arthur Joyner and Ila Mae Langston Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Winstead.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vessie Mae Joyner; daughters, Marsha Moore and husband, Terry, Ila Leigh Joyner, and Georgia Ann Joyner; two grandchildren; one great-grandson, sisters, Delores Newcomb and Dorothy Joyner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Avalon Baptist Church, 3227 Old Battleboro Road, Rocky Mount with Rev. Joe Price officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service.
