EMILY TURNER ROSE

WILMINGTON - Emily Turner Rose, age 71, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on June 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late A. E. Turner and Aldene Hyde Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Bennie Rose, III; and son, James Bennie Rose, IV.

A lifelong educator, Emily taught children within the Nash Rocky Mount School System (1969 - 2002) and the Horry County School System in South Carolina until her retirement in 2011. Throughout her career in education, Emily dedicated herself as a teacher, assistant school principal, school principal, and as an administrator. Having touched many lives, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal sister and friend to many. Emily will be deeply missed however she will never be forgotten.

Emily leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Dr. Todd Rose and his wife, Bonnie, of Wilmington. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jacob Andrew "Jake" Rose, Elizabeth Marie "Emmie" Rose, James Bennie Rose, V, and Wyatt Russell Rose; sister, Ebbie Wheeless and her husband, William, of McDonough, GA; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Sam Mooney officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
