Loretta Jean Joyner Winstead

Loretta Jean Joyner Winstead, age 83, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Born in Nash County on December 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late George A. Joyner and Ila Mae Langston Joyner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Welford "Bill" Winstead; daughter, Cathy Barnes Viverette; and grandson, Jeffrey Allen Winstead.

She is survived by her son, Gregg Winstead and her son-in-law, Dennis Ray Viverette; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, George M. Joyner and wife, Mae; sisters, Deloris Newcomb and Dorothy Joyner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Joe Price officiating. A Visitation with the family will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
