Sue Madden Snipes Ribet, 87, of Durham (formerly of Spring Hope) passed away on Jan. 20, 2018. The daughter of the late Thornwell Columbus Madden, Sr., and Bertha Jane Shaw, Sue was a native of Hart County, GA, and grew up in Anderson, SC. She was the widow of William Oswald (Bill) Snipes and of Lee Frank Ribet. She is survived by daughter Cynthia Ann (Cindy) Snipes of Oxford, son Ronald William (Ron) Snipes and daughter-in-law Jewel, of New Bern; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sisters Jenny Smith of Anderson, SC, and Betty Wiles (Robert) of Starr, SC, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Thomas, Judson, and T.C. Madden, Jr.; and sisters, Sallie Moon, Frances Moon, Margaret Wilson, and Laura Lyon.

Funeral services were held Fri. Jan 26 at Clements Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chris Agoranos and Rev. Laurie Hays-Coffman officiating. Interment services followed at Spring Hope Memorial Gardens, Rev. Kevin Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Methodist Church, Durham, or to the charity of your choice.
