Betty Lou Griffin Bryant, age 86, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Born in Nash County on September 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher Lee Griffin and Martha Elizabeth "Betty" Skinner Griffin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Berry William Bryant; brothers, William Cooper, Harvey Ray, Leslie Carlisle, and Perry Dean.

She is survived by her son, John "Shorty" Harris and wife, Millie, of Nashville; daughter, Barbara Harris of Charlotte; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Carlton Cockrell officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service and other times at the home of Shorty and Millie in Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
