Emma Jean Brake Edge, age 84, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Born in Edgecombe County on February 4, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Luther Brake and Emma Flye Brake; brothers, Ed Brake and wife, Martha; Robert Earl Brake and wife, Margaret; Sam Brake and wife, Stanton; Tom Brake and wife, Madeline; and sister, Mabel Davis and husband, George.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert "Frank" Edge; and daughter, Lisa Louise Edge, of Okinawa, Japan; a son, Robert Walker Edge (Renee`) of Alamo, GA; two grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, July 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Bettie Kirkpatrick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jean's name to The First Presbyterian Church, 153 N.
